Rheo3000 Hardware Requirements

This are the recommended not the absolute minimum hardware requirements.

• IBM compatible computer including a 1GHz processor
• Main storage (RAM): 500 MB / hard disk storage 500 MB
• VGA graphic adapter with 1024 x 768 resolution
• Serial interface port (RS232) or (USB + RS232 Adapter)
• XP/2003/Vista/Win7   

Software Requirements

Rheo3000 in the current version support following operating systems(Service Packs):

• Win 2000 SP4 (Update Rollup 1 needed too! / Supported till version 1.2.1365)
• Win XP SP3
• Win Vista (all SP)
• Win 7 (all SP)
• Win 2003 
• Win 2008 (all SP)

We recommend using an up-to-date operating system always !!

SQL Server 2005 - MSXML SP2 Installation Problem

If an error occur during SQL Server 2005 installation on the MSXMP SP2 part
--> Try following solutions:

1.
* Run the Microsoft Fix: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9758036
* Restart the PC and start Rheo3000 again.

2.
* Uninstall current MSXML x.x SP x installation manually
* Restart the PC and start Rheo3000 again.

If the problem is not solved, send the SQL log files from the installation folder (like: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\LOG ) to us.

Supported Rheometer and Thermostats

With Rheo3000 v1.2.1379 you are able to control:

• all Brookfield RS Rheometer (RS / RS-CPS / RS-SST …) 
• all previous/older RheoTec RC Rheometer (RC20 / RC20-CPS / RC30 …) 
• Brookfield Thermostat (TC-502 …) 
• Julabo (controllable Thermostats "Top-Tech", evtl. "High-Tech" models) 
• Lauda (E200 / E300 / new controllable ECO thermostats)

Strong DB Password needed

Sometimes(seldom) windows password policy needs a stronger password for the SQL-Server login.
Probably you could disable or change this password policy!

Try following way:

1. Click on Start
2. Click on Control Panel
3. Click on Administrative Tools
4. Click on Local Security Policy
5. Click on the plus-sign in the left pane to open Account Policies
6. Click on Password Policy and change probably "Min password length"

Or install the SQL Server 2005 Express manually with a strong password and use this database and password during Rheo3000 installation.

1. Execute the "AdditionalPreReq\SQLExpress\ENGLISHIntallSQLExpressManually.bat" file on the CD.
2. Type in a long/strong password
3. Finish SQL Server installation
4. Install Rheo3000 and select existing Database (type in your strong password)

Current Update

Here you found the current update:
       Patch_001340102139312_exe.zip

Update process:

• Download the file
• Extract the executable e.g. with WinZip and password; <request the password per mail>
• Close all applications -> close Rheo3000 primarily !
• Execute this extracted file "Patch_00xxxxxxxxx10.exe" local on the PC where Rheo3000 is installed
• The target path (filled automatic) should be something like "C:\Program Files\Rheo3000\1.0.0" normally it has not to be changed
• Now push Start button and replace all files
• Wait till update was finished

( NOT for Win2000/WinNT/Win98/Win95/Win3.x )
